AWC and Universal Destinations & Experiences to Collaborate on Two Distinct New Experiences in Thailand

- AWC and Universal Destinations & Experiences are developing new experiences in Bangkok and Pattaya that have the potential to bring globally recognized stories and characters to life through a Kung Fu Panda experience in historic Yaowarat and a DreamWorks-themed water park on Pattaya's vibrant beachfront.

8 July 2026, Bangkok, Thailand – Asset World Corporation (AWC), Thailand's leading integrated lifestyle real estate group, is exploring additional opportunities with Universal Destinations & Experiences in Bangkok and Pattaya. A preliminary agreement between AWC and Universal is the first step toward developing two distinct experiences.
The collaboration brings together AWC's expertise in creating landmark destinations and Universal Destinations & Experiences' world-renowned creative capabilities to support Thailand's continued evolution as a leading global tourism destination.
The World of Kung Fu Panda in Bangkok's Historic Chinatown
The first experience under development is a Kung Fu Panda-themed experience within "Woeng Nakornkasem Yaowaraj," AWC's landmark mixed-use development in the heart of Bangkok's historic Chinatown.
Inspired by the concept "Legacy of the Past, Inspiration of Tomorrow," the development celebrates the rich heritage and cultural significance of Yaowarat while creating new experiences for future generations. The experience is designed to complement the cultural roots and enduring spirit of Yaowarat, creating a meaningful connection between globally beloved storytelling and one of Thailand's most iconic Chinese heritage districts.
The project would integrate into a larger development and plans also include:
- Iconic Heritage and Luxury Retail: A sophisticated blend of preserved historic architecture, a spacious outdoor plaza, and one of Bangkok’s largest underground retail destinations, connected by AWC’s first sustainable tourism tram model in Bangkok, linking visitors to the city’s iconic landmark.
- Cultural-Fusion Lifestyle: A vibrant destination where heritage, culture and contemporary lifestyle experiences come together.
- World-Class Luxury Hospitality: Collaborating with IHG Hotels & Resorts to introduce the InterContinental Bangkok Chinatown (300 keys) and Kimpton Bangkok Chinatown Hotel (over 110 keys).
Bringing World-Class Entertainment to Pattaya's Vibrant Beachfront
The second destination experience would bring the first integrated indoor-outdoor themed water park featuring beloved properties from DreamWorks Studios to "Aquatique Destination Pattaya." Situated on Pattaya's iconic beachfront, the development will combine immersive entertainment, family-oriented experiences, leisure, hospitality and lifestyle offerings to create a year-round destination for visitors of all ages.
Reflecting Pattaya's vibrant beachfront character, the destination is designed to celebrate family connections, leisure and shared experiences while enhancing the city's appeal to both domestic and international visitors.
The project would integrate into a larger development as part of Aquatique Destination Pattaya, creating a new experience that complements Pattaya's continued evolution as a leading tourism and lifestyle destination.
- World-Class Family Entertainment Destination: Immersive Universal-themed experiences inspired by globally beloved stories and characters, designed to create memorable moments for visitors of all ages.
- Beachfront Lifestyle and Leisure Experiences: More than 110,000 square meters of retail, dining and leisure offerings that celebrate Pattaya's vibrant coastal lifestyle and year-round appeal.
- Integrated Hospitality Experiences: A curated collection of internationally recognized hospitality brands, including Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott and Autograph Collection properties with 1,441 keys, alongside additional hospitality offerings designed to welcome families, leisure travelers and visitors from around the world.
The development is expected to further strengthen Pattaya's position as one of Thailand's leading tourism destinations by creating new world-class experiences that bring together family entertainment, beachfront lifestyle and hospitality, offering new reasons for visitors to discover, stay and return to the city.
