The 260-key urban hotel Meliá Chiang Mai towers over the River Ping and bustling Night Bazaar in the heart of Chiang Mai city in Thailand’s mountainous north.

Meliá Chiang Mai is situated six kilometres from the Chiang Mai International Airport on the vibrant Charoen Prathet Road, near a broad spectrum of tourist attractions, markets, and Buddhist temples.

With a design that pays tribute to Chiang Mai’s charming history and culture with a contemporary flair, the hotel comprises a striking 22-floor tower fronted by an adjoining seven-floor podium building.

Meliá Chiang Mai’s host of top-notch facilities for business and leisure travellers alike includes two restaurants, two bars, and two lounges, one with an executive lounge on the 21st floor. Other facilities include Meliá’s signature YHI Spa with seven treatment rooms, a fully equipped fitness center, swimming pool, ballroom and three additional meeting spaces, and a kids and teens club.

As a Spanish company with a proud history of culinary excellence, Meliá has now brought its authentic panache to northern Thailand. Fans of Mediterranean cuisine can indulge cravings inspired by dishes born half a world away at the all-day dining restaurant Laan Na Kitchen. Next to Laan Na Kitchen, lobby lounge Ruen Kaew Lounge welcomes guests for a coffee, Spanish Afternoon Tea, healthy small bites inspired by ‘My Balance by Meliá’, or simply a space to enjoy a moment after yet another exciting day exploring Chiang Mai.

Signature restaurant Mai Restaurant & Bar, that specializes in contemporary Northern Thai cuisine, and the executive lounge named The Level Lounge with panoramic views of Chiang Mai are both located on the 21st floor. The Level Lounge is available for guests staying in The Level Room, The Level Premium Room, The Level Suite and The Level Presidential Suite.

The hotel’s pièce de résistance is Mai The Sky Bar, Chiang Mai’s highest rooftop bar. Situated on the 22nd floor, the 360-degree rooftop bar features two bars connected by a glass bridge and affords views of the River Ping to the city’s east and the famed Doi Suthep Temple on the mountaintop to the west.

Meliá Chiang Mai is embracing sustainability and promoting healthy eating with its ‘360° Cuisine’ concept. Our ‘farm to plate’ efforts, sourcing organic produce that travels only a short distance to our hotel and using every part of each ingredient we can – roots, leaves, stems, stalks and more – come full circle with ‘plate to farm’, whereby we return food waste back to the farm as fertilizer in a truly 360° concept.

We work closely with local farmers to improve sustainability, encourage ethical production and help the farming community. The program is designed to give guests peace of mind about where their food comes from, and make communities and the overall food system more resilient. Local farmers also assist the hotel with import substitution, growing various kinds of tomatoes, salad leaves, and specialized ingredients such as padrón pepper, that would otherwise need to be imported from Spain for the hotel’s authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Ingredients from the hotel’s nearby farm are also used in various beverages at the hotel’s bars and Meliá’s signature YHI Spa.
